The Chickahominy's broad expanses of open marshes, cypress tree shorelines, and many fish species offer anglers ideal tidal river fishing. The Chickahominy River has a nationally recognized largemouth bass fishery, offering excellent bass fishing. The Chickahominy's largemouth catch rates are typically the highest of all the Virginia tidal rivers.

Our on-site marina store offers anglers a variety of bait options including night crawlers, frozen squid, and frozen shrimp.
Local Fish
Largemouth bass, black crappie, yellow perch, and white perch are all found in our local waters.

2021 Bassmaster Northern Open at the James River.
River’s Rest Marina & Resort sponsored Richmond born-and-raised fisherman Turner Hart for his competition in the 2021 Bassmaster Northern Open at the James River.
